Diving holidays and snorkelling

Diving and Snorkelling Holidays

Holidays revolving around water have long been a favourite with British holiday makers, with swimming constituting one of the most popular past times. Some people prefer to be on the water, rather than in it – canoeing, narrow boating, wind surfing and so on. However, there are those for whom all that is not enough, as they like to spend their time out under the water – and not just any water, but warm, turquoise, blue water with exciting marine life to look at and explore. If you are an underwater enthusiast – take a look at our website to find a holiday, which lets you indulge in diving or snorkelling in the world’s best marine locations.

And the locations for you to choose from are truly diverse and exciting. All you have to do is decide, whether you want to explore the sea near the shores of Egypt, or the Great Barrier Reef or other stunning diving locations, as far afield as Central America, Florida or the Pacific Ring. You might not even want to travel far – the Aegean, Ionian and Mediterranean Seas offer some pretty interesting diving and especially snorkelling locations too. What they all have in common is the lovely warm and mellow seas, great hot weather and excellent local diving facilities.

If you are new to diving, but have always wanted to give it a go, don’t be put off by the equipment required or the amount of technical knowledge divers have to have in order to practice safe diving. The best way to get all that under your hat is to book yourself onto a holiday that includes a diving course, at the end of which you will receive an internationally recognised diving qualification (usually PADI). That way, you learn to dive being taught by English speaking fully trained instructors, have all your equipment provided, get to go on some brilliant dives, and still have enough time at the end of the day to relax in the spa in your resort (there are even spa package tours available), having a massage or a sauna, and exploring the local cuisine and nightlife.

If you are an already experienced diver you might simply want to experience diving in a place you have never been, swimming with tropical fish exploring wrecks, coral reefs or atolls, encountering exotic marine life in a tropical paradise. You might even want to be part of a local marine conservation project as part of your holidays. Make sure to remember to bring along proof your diving qualification in order to access the local diving facilities or hire your diving equipment.

Of course, there are plenty of things to see in shallow waters too (including sharks) for those, who would rather gently snorkel along shallow wrecks or corals. You don’t, of course, need any qualifications or specialised equipment to go snorkelling, so your options are literally unlimited. You are guaranteed to find a relaxing holiday in the tropics enjoying the sea and the pampering that goes with a tropical holiday.

Until you tumble back into the water, it is almost impossible to imagine the feeling of freedom of your first dive.   Your scuba equipment – so heavy and uncomfortable on land, loses its considerable weight and immediately you can swim effortlessly.

You are simply in another world, a dimension like nothing you have ever seen or experienced before.   Scuba diving takes you to a new state of ‘being’, of fascination, of peaceful relaxation!

If you have never experienced this before - try it!

There are many places in the UK to train to use diving equipment and to dive – but taking a holiday diving in warm, clear, turquoise, tropical waters amongst corals and shoals of incandescent tropical fish has to be experienced to be believed.  Explore these links to holidays in places that will take your breath away - with no need to come up for air!
