Facials

Facials

For people, who love getting pampered, and want to feel as well look good, a facial is often a favoured treatment down at the local salon or as part of a pamper weekend at a luxurious spa. A good facial can be enjoyed at any time, even if you don’t have a lot of time to spare, and you can even do it yourself at home, if you can’t fit it in otherwise. There are many different types of facials you can enjoy, some of which you can do yourself in the comfort of your own home, and others, which require the skill of a beauty therapist and some specialised equipment. They range from steam treatments and exfoliation to extraction and massage, using creams, lotions, masks and peels.

Masks are by far the most popular treatment. You can relax at your spa, your local beauty salon or you can do it at home on a budget, even making your own to suit your skin type and ingredients preference. Many people love face masks, as they contain minerals, vitamins and fruit extracts. They deeply cleanse your pores, can heal skin conditions and refresh your skin. And most face mask fans would claim, that a mask leaves their skin looking revitalised and rejuvenated, less tired and younger.

Serums are held in high estimation too, as they are an intensive and effective way to treat and pamper your skin. They are liquids containing active ingredients, such as vitamins and anti-oxidants, and they are usually applied to the skin after a facial treatment. They can treat conditions, such as redness, dehydration and also lack of firmness. A serum treatment is a luxurious way to be kind to your skin and to pamper it with luscious ingredients.

If you are unsure, what treatment to pick your beauty therapist will tell you what type of skin you have during your initial consultation. Depending, whether you have dry, oily, combination, sensitive or mature skin, they will help you make the right choice of treatment for your skin. There are so many to choose from – exfoliation, either chemical or mechanical, also known as microdermabrasion, which removes the top layer of your skin, or extraction, where the beauty therapist gets rid of any black or white heads, though this can be uncomfortable during the treatment. And, if you really want to treat yourself why not go for a facial massage to relax and stimulate your skin and facial muscles.

Ideally you should have a facial every four to six weeks. You shouldn’t have any skin treatment more often than that, as your skin needs time to re-generate. If you cannot make it every four to six weeks, it is recommended to have at least one facial treatment in each season. Additionally you can have boosting treatments for your skin with collagen or light. Whatever you decide, remember, if you enjoy a facial treatment, so do probably your friends – so why not book into a spa together or give a facial as a present.

A facial is a spa beauty treatment that can involve a variety of gels, creams, oils or serums to cleanse and nourish your skin.    It is a relaxing and luxurious experience.   Whether you choose a mini facial lasting around half and hour and including light massage of the face, neck and shoulders or an exotic relaxation version taking approximately two hours - possibly also preceded or followed by a full body massage or saunas, a facial will help you to completely relax and unwind.
Be sure to ask about the pamper products that are used
as you may wish to take some home with you to re-create the wonderful experience later.   Some facials involve a hot towel compress with essential oils, some spas offer waxing, hair removal, bleaching and oxygen jets.  All are designed to de-stress and give you a fresher, firmer and more youthful skin and make you look and feel simply beautiful!
