Holistic Therapists UK

Holistic Therapists UK

If you love your holistic therapies, but are unsure about the credentials of an organisation or a therapist, you might want to check them out. Alternatively you might want to look up a service, a therapist, a centre or a treatment for more information, needing a good and reliable directory. There are a great many directories you can find and search for through our website. They will enable you to find a suitable and qualified practitioner or therapist near you. Many of the available directories will provide you with a comprehensive list of holistic therapies and therapists for anywhere in the UK.

The largest professional association of holistic therapists in the UK and in Ireland is the Federation of Holistic Therapists or FHT. The aim of the FHT is to maintain high standards of holistic treatments. This means, that any holistic therapist, who wants to be registered with the FHT, will need to adhere to the principles and the standards set by the FHT. This protects you, so you can be guaranteed a certain level of standard in your treatment, if you pick a therapist from the FHT register. It also raises the status of and the interest in holistic therapies, and of course it aids you in finding a therapist local to you.

The FHT is also registered with the Complementary and Natural Health Care Council (CNHC), a body it helped to set up. The CNHC is a UK government backed voluntary regulator for complementary therapists. It has only just come into being (November 2010) and it sets the quality mark for treatments and acts as the general public’s guide to best practice in holistic and complementary therapy. This means, that you can trust any therapist, which is registered with the CNHC, as it means you are guaranteed a high standard of therapy and also a point of redress. So, if you are unsure, whether to trust a therapy offered or a therapist, look out for the CNHC mark of quality assurance.

The directories you can search will not only give you access to lists of therapist, if you are trying to find a therapist most local or most suitable for you – they also offer a huge amount of information about the therapies themselves, if you want to find out more about a particular one or are not sure, which therapy would be the best one for you. In addition they also provide information about therapy related books or articles, you might wish to read or purchase in order to widen your knowledge.

The directories do, however, not only provide information for the public, seeking treatment, they also offer therapists the opportunity to promote their therapy or their product or service to a wider public. Equally, if you are interested in becoming a therapist yourself and don’t know how to go about it, or you are a therapist, who wants to refresh or deepen their skills or knowledge, most directories contain information and listings for training workshops or courses.
