Holistic therapies, or wholistic therapies (as they used to be known) are concerned with the wholeness of the mind, the body and the spirit. They frequently get confused with alternative therapies and complementary medicine, as they often get provided in conjunction with each other in retreats, spas and relaxation breaks in general. Holistic therapies are different though, in that they are not concerned with physical health as their main focus, even though it is often a physical complaint that is the trigger for us to seek holistic therapies. People, who have experienced anxiety or even panic attacks will know, the power of the mind, and how extreme stress levels can trigger terrible physical symptoms. If you don’t know, you’re having a panic attack, or what causes it, you can easily convince yourself that you are about to die of a heart attack. Holistic means to look at all part of the individual and how they work together.
