Hopi Ear Candles

Hopi Ear Candles are a natural, ancient therapy originally used by Greeks and the American Hopi Indians.   Treatments are administered by a qualified therapist rather than a doctor but I have included this as a medical intervention because of the very specific and distressing ear, nose and throat conditions it is able to benefit.  These are:-

Tinnitus (distressing ringing, buzzing, hissing or other sounds in the ears - from inside your body - that don't go away)
Vertigo and Dizziness
Sinusitis (inflamation of sinus tissue - typically under eyes, around nose and across cheeks)
Neuralgia (severe pain associated with nerves in the face) 
Migraine and headaches
Snoring
Ear wax build-up
Effects of air travel and diving.
Hayfever
Cold and Flu symptoms

For balancing purposes, both of your ears are treated.    Natural substances used include beeswax, sage and chamomile and the principle of the treatment includes a vibration of air in the ear canal that generates a massage-like effect on the ear drum.

As with all therapies, the therapist will take you through a health questionnaire before using Hopi Ear Candles and will refer you to your doctor if your condition is considered unsuitable for this treatment.
