Lighting
Lighting
Lighting is an important part of our home, be it electric lighting or live flames from candles and fires – a light can provide just the right ambience in your room, or if chosen wrongly, it can completely destroy the atmosphere, making it impossible to relax and unwind. To make your house feel like home, it is very important to make the right lighting choices and take an active part in creating the feeling and mood you want to achieve in your lovely home. And, of course, with each room having a different purpose, you want to have different lighting in each of them.
The choices, as you will see, when you search our website, as literally limitless. Depending on the effect you are after for your favourite room, how bright or muted you want it, and which colours you prefer – all you have to do is look and make choices. Easier said than done. There are so many to choose from ranging from interior to exterior lighting. If you are into al fresco dining, be it for a BBQ or a summer evening’s dinner party, the right lights can make all the difference. If you prefer electric lights, they can be wall mounted or stuck in the ground. On you decking you could even enjoy decking and walk over lights. Of course, if you want to keep the insects away from the food outdoor candles, especially the citronella or lavender fragranced ones will do the job perfectly, bath your garden in a lovely soft light and smell nice to cap it all.
If you want to perfect your interior lighting the choices are really getting difficult ranging from ceiling lights and fans, chandeliers, table lamps and floor lamps to reading lamps and wall lights. Are you going to go for up or down lighting, lighting with a dimmer switch, lighting to lighten up or tone down, lighting in different colours? And what about the lamp shades and bases? Is traditional your style or do you prefer modern and contemporary or designer lighting. There is also a big variety of decorative lighting to add a bit of quirkiness or your own personal touch, such as candelabras, garlands, light sticks or light chains – all in different colours. And, of course, not to forget the light bulbs – choose from soft tone or different colour ones. Energy saving light bulbs, though initially more expensive, can save up to 80% of energy compared with incandescent light bulbs, and your electricity consumption will go down, using them.
Of course all these exciting lighting possibilities can be beautifully complemented by the use of candles. Put a few on the mantel piece or scatter some tea lights around the room or on your dining table to give your room a warm and natural glow. For extra relaxation choose fragranced candles, like lavender, sandalwood, Patchouli or chocolate to name but a few. With such a wide choice you are bound to be able to put together the perfect lighting just for you and your home.
