Traditional
Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient healing art, which has been handed down
from teacher to pupil since the third century BC.
The School of Thai Yoga Massage offers
students an opportunity to learn this distinct massage form.
Thai Massage works on an energy line
system (the Ten Sen) through which the body's natural life force flows.
Blockages in this life force cause aches, pains
and disease.
The therapist uses hands, feet and elbows
to apply pressure to important points along these lines, in combination
with gentle stretching and applied hatha yoga. This releases blocked
energy and frees the body's own natural healing potential, thus restoring
balance, health and harmony.
The
School of Thai Yoga Massage was established in 1993. It was one of the
first schools in the UK offering courses in Traditional Thai Yoga Massage.
The courses are recognised by The Complementary
Therapists Association at Embody (CThA) and meet the standards set by
them. We are also affiliated to the Institute for Complementary Medicine
(ICM).
The School is a member of the Traditional
Thai Yoga Massage Association (TTYMA), which is a member organisation
of the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA). After qualifying
on the certificate course, practitioners will be accepted onto the Traditional
Thai Yoga Massage Practitioners Register.
