Thai Massage
As the name indicates, this is the traditional healing massage of Thailand originating in India over 2500 years ago!
This form of massage involves manipulation, stretching techniques and gentle pressure along the energy lines (meridians) of the body. The aim of the massage is to release toxins and waste products from the joints, muscles and connective tissue and to stimulate internal organs by gentle presure on specific energy points.
The massage is carried out on a mattress on the floor and the therapist uses hands and feet on your fully-clothed body to apply pressure and carry out stretching movements to release trapped energy. Loose and comfortable clothes are necessary.
This type of massage is a healing and meditative experience for the therapist and so is carried out in silence. It can last up to two hours and you are encouraged to look within yourself and to concentrate on inner healing whilst the massage progresses.
