Winter sports Holidays

Many people associate their holidays and relaxation breaks with the sun and the sea, sitting by the pool with a drink in their hand or enjoying some fun activities. There are, however, a significant number of holidaymakers, who head for the cold, the snow and the ice. Winter sports have long attracted a huge following among holidaymakers, who want to relax abroad in great weather and having one action packed day after another, premier accommodation with a great service and pristine snowy landscapes. So, if you’d rather get your thrills from some fast and furious action in the snow and ice rather than lounge on white sandy beaches, search our website for your perfect magical winter wonder holiday.

There are those holidays, which let you experience your favourite winter sport to the full – every day all day, so that you only have to fall into your luxurious bed at the end of a hard day’s skiing. Other holidays combine a number of other activities, such as different sports for you taste or learn as well as inbuilt tours and excursions to different places. Whatever you would like to do – full on action every day, or action mixed with sightseeing and culture – there is a suitable holiday for you out there, just waiting to be found and booked.

For your specialist activity holidays you can get some great packages, which include necessary extras, such as ski and boots hire (unless you want to bring your own equipment), ski lift passes and transfers to the pistes. That way, you can avoid any hidden costs and enjoy the pure snow, the sunshine and some fantastic great cuisine and relax the way you want to on your well deserved escape. And if you have any energy left at the end of the day you can enjoy unwinding down at the local or back at your hotel with a detoxifying sauna or a relaxing massage.

Winter sport holidays can be enjoyed by anyone – even the less active group or family members can enjoy activities suitable for them. And what a range of activities there are: reindeer or dog sledding, snowmobiling, snow trekking – there is bound to be something there for you. You can also combine skiing with other activities, such as snowboarding, cycling, walking or building igloos. Why not be in charge and design your own holiday with as many activities you want.

And why just head for the beautiful, but traditional winter sports locations – why not try something new. Lapland is not only for Father Christmas, nor is it only in Finland – there are plenty of tours, which will let you explore Norwegian Lapland cross country skiing. Or if all that is still not cold enough for you, there are destinations in the Arctic Circle waiting to be admired and explored. Have you ever thought Japan could be an exciting winter sport destination – well, it is, with its panoramic mountain views, pristine forests and glaciers. And if you would like to on a gentler ride through the snow – their snowshoeing excursions are an excellent way to move through the snow and take in the breathtaking surroundings.

For many families, winter-sporting is now the main annual family holiday.    My own family have skied for years and as each new family member has been able to walk they have been introduced to ski slopes at the local snowdome to prepare for the family's next sortie.

These winter holidays have been in a variety of accommodation from modest, clean, basic self-catering apartments to lavish own chef, own babysitter, luxurious chalets with hot tubs on the balcony, massage chairs, bar, sumptuously comfortable furniture, bathrooms stocked with pamper products, holistic therapies for a variety of body massage.    Everything is available depending on your budget but no matter the depth of your pocket you can have an amazing holiday.

Most winter sports centres offer the opportunity to experience many more sports than skiing and there will be something for everyone in the party.  Even for the non-skier, who may only be there to enjoy the apres-ski, a winter sports holiday with family is an opportunity for perfect relaxation, a time to get lost in a book in the hot tubs whilst enjoying the sunshine and soaking up incredible atmosphere!  Something for absolutely everyone and it's all here waiting for you!
